Averill Park seized a down to the wire victory over Saratoga 44-41 in what turned out to be a gigantic test between the lines of Suburban Council basketball units.
The Warriors held a slim 1-point margin at the start of the fourth quarter. This grudge match kept fans on the edge of their seats through the first twenty-four minutes of action.
Averill Park held a slim 2-point margin at the beginning of the second stanza.
Saratoga were benefitted by a robust performance in the third quarter and outscored Averill Park by 10 points.
The Warriors were on top at every quarter buzzer by separations of 2, 11, 1, & 3.
The Blue Streaks produced a rally in the second half but they succumbed to defeat.
Amelia Wood led the Warriors with 16 points. Anna Jankovic netted 10 points. Michelina Lombardi totaled 7 points. Taylor Holohan sank 6 points.
The Warriors shot stellar from the the stripe as they made 69.2%, 9 of 13.
Natasha Chudy paced Saratoga with 15 points. Ella Spain scored 9 points. Katie Claeson collected 7 points. Lauren Patnode totaled 6 points.
Saratoga Springs splashed 5 baskets from behind the three point line.
