Boys Varsity Final:

-Schenectady’s Jay-Quan Johnson's 10 first quarter points helped the Patriots open up a 5 point lead over Green Tech after the opening period.

-Green Tech opened the second quarter on a 13-1 run turning a 5 point deficit into a 7 point lead with 5 minutes left in the 2Q, which turned out to be their biggest lead of the game. Lakyi Russell scored 8 of those points including connecting on back to back 3 three pointers.

-Schenectady countered with a 7-1 run to tie it at 28 on a Tyrone Pettway bucket.

-Green Tech then responded with an 8-2 run to go up 36-30 with 1:48 left in the half.

-Schenectady scored the last 7 points of the half to take a 37-36 lead at the half.

-Schenectady took their biggest lead of the night (8 points) with 3:13 left in the 3Q. They continued to get to the free throw line as they were attacking the hoop almost every trip.

-Green Tech closed the 3rd quarter on a 10-4 run to cut the deficit to 2 points, 60-58, after 3 periods.

-Green Tech jumped out to a 6 point lead in the 4Q and seems in control with 2:48 left in the contest.

-Schenectady continued to scrap and get to the free throw line and came all the way back to take a 1 point lead on a Twyquan Jenkins basket with only 1:03 left in the game. Jay-Quan Johnson then stole an inbound pass and fed Cameron Coles for the hoop to put Schenectady up 3.

-After a Josh Rodriguez basket with 0:36 left Green Tech cut the Schenectady lead to 1. They are forced to foul and Schenectady can’t convert on 4 straight FT attempts. This gave Green Tech the ball with 8 seconds left. Lakyi Russell is fouled with 5 seconds left just across half court. He converts both attempts leaving Schenectady one last possession. The Patriots long 3 point attempt didn't fall. Green Tech made 2 FT’s  with 0.5 seconds left to win 82-79.
