Mechanicville won a thriller against Hudson 55-54 to advance to the Class B semi-final round where they will take on Schuylerville on 2/27 in Glens Falls. Both teams left it all on the court. Colin Richardson was an offensive force for the Red Raiders leading the way with 27 points including the game winning bucket as time expired. 

 
The offenses really got it rolling in the opening quarter as they combined for 38 points.
Hudson held a small 2-point lead at the outset of the second period.

The contest was a toss up as the teams went to the first half recess with Hudson nosing in front. 

Hudson scored the first six points after the break to extend their lead to 36-29 with 5:50 left in the third quarter. After a timeout Mechanicville took the game by storm and grabbed an advantage of 47-38 moving on to the fourth period.

Hudson rallied to tie the game in the closing seconds and regained possession after a Keith Robinson steal where he was fouled with 4.1 seconds left in the game. Robinson made one of two free throws and after timeouts by each team, Mechanicville's Colin Richardson went the length of the court making a layup as time expired.

Colin Richardson led Mechanicville with 27 points. Austin Rozowicz splashed in 11 points. Jacob Eiseman added 8 points.
Mechanicville produced 5 trey balls.
The Red Raiders shot with superb accuracy from the charity stripe as they prospered at 84.2%, 16 of 19.

Keith Robinson paced the Bluehawks with 27 points. Malaky Payton chipped in 7 points. Jordan Cunningham bagged 6 points.
Hudson shot exquisite from the foul line as they achieved 75%, 9 of 12.

Schalmont seized a down to the wire victory over Gloversville 48-41 in a Class A quarterfinal round game. The Sabres move on to play Catholic Central on 2/28 at the Cool Insuring Arena.

Schalmont held a slim 2-point margin heading into the fourth period. 
The Sabres finished the game in splendid fashion as they outscored the Dragons by 5-points in the final frame.

Schalmont held a slight 1-point advantage at the commencement of quarter two.

The contest was a toss up as the teams went to the first half breather with Schalmont gaining the upper hand.

The Sabres led at every period closing whistle by leads of 1, 3, 2, & 7.

Schalmont placed three players in double figure scoring. Isaiah Smith showed the way for the Sabres with 16 points. Derek Schultz added 11 points. Noah O'Connor bagged 11 points. Curtis Brosious popped in 6 points.
Schalmont connected on 9 hoops from deep.
Derek Schultz made 3 three-pointers.

Rocco Insonia sparked the attack for the Dragons with 14 points. Jordan Collar scored 9 points. Rowan Halloran added 7 points. Caelan Porter scored 7 points.
Gloversville drained 4 baskets from behind the three point line.

(Class AA Quarter Final)

 Averill Park beat Mohonasen 74-50 to advance to the Class AA semi-final round vs. Niskayuna on 3/1 at HVCC.

Taylor Holohan led the Warriors with 36 points. Arianna Verardi netted 17 points and Kayleigh Ahern with 11.

Isabella Petrocci scored 12 points and Isabella Clute 11 for the Mighty Warriors.

 

(Loudonville)

 

Lansingburgh prevailed over Hudson Falls 66-49 in a Class A sectional contest. Markus Green and Aayden Green combined to score 49 points for the Knights. Lansingburgh will now face Glens Falls in the semi-final round on 2/28 at the Cool Insuring Arena.

The Knights finished the game strong as they eclipsed Hudson Falls by 6-points in the final quarter.
 
After a lively two quarters where the teams combined for 73 points, the scoring pace slowed down as the teams could manage only 42 total points scored in the second half.

Lansingburgh were out in front at all frame closures by margins of 5, 9, 11, & 17.

Markus Green guided the Knights with 27 points. Aayden Green netted 22 points. Aidan Pickert bagged 9 points.
The Knights splashed 5 hoops from deep.

The Tigers had a trio of players in double figure scoring. Brady Smith helped the cause for Hudson Falls with 18 points. Jayden Hardwick secured 13 points. Drew Seeley finished with 11 points.
Hudson Falls drained 7 hoops from long range.

CBA stole a win versus Shen to advance to the Class AA Final Four. With the game tied at 50 and .08 left in the game, Senior Matt Sgambati flicked the ball away from Shen's Grady Ceccucci and it landed in Amare Coffil's hands who hit a streaking Sgambati for the game winning basket as time expired. That capped a wild fourth quarter where CBA rallied to tie the game at 46, after trailing by nine points in the fourth quarter, then trailed again 50-46, and rallied to tie it at 50.

The Brothers will play Colonie on 2/29 in Glens Falls.

Shen led 11-10 after 1q, 23-22 at the half and 39-37 after three periods.

Matt Sgambati scored 17 for CBA, J.T. Vogel chipped in with 13 points.

Grady Ceccucci led the Plainsmen with 14 points, Ibrahim Begad added 13 points, Miles Peterson 9.
