Averill Park took home the Class A Regional title versus Indian River 64-38 in a game that they led from start to finish. Taylor Holohan was the star on offense for the Warriors, scoring 29 points, and made her impact felt on both ends of the court. Averill Park moves on to the NYSPHSAA final four next Friday 3/17 where they will take on Walter Panas at HVCC, 3:15 p.m.

The Warriors used an impressive first eight minutes and darted in front to gain a big first quarter edge 20-6. They denied access to their hoop like a fortress and were in the drivers seat throughout the period.

Indian River fell behind by a score of 37-13 at the half.

The Warriors were in control at all quarter buzzers by leads of 14, 24, 26, & 26.

Taylor Holohan led Averill Park with 29 points. Kayleigh Ahern collected 10 points. Arianna Verardi totaled 9 points.

Albany Academy cruised past Saranac 62-37 to capture the Class B Regional Championship. The Bears will take on Putnam Valley in the NYSPHSAA final four on Friday 3/17, 11:45 a.m., at HVCC.

The Bears stormed out of the locker room and sprinted out to a nice first quarter lead 18-6. They put together an imposing effort guarding the hoop and seized momentum in the period.

Albany Academy were relentless at the break and led 44-12.

Saranac dug in and fought back in the final quarter but they ran out of time.

The Bears were in command at all quarter stoppages by separations of 12, 32, 36, & 25.

Albany Academy had three shooting stars in double figure scoring. Saige Randolph guided the Bears with 14 points. Eva Gitto poured in 11 points. Stylianna Mantzouris bagged 10 points. Morgan Vien finished with 9 points. Bella Vincent recorded 8 points.
Albany Academy knocked down 6 hoops from behind the arc.
The Bears shot with first-rate accuracy from the charity stripe as they made 72.7%, 8 of 11.

Brenna Ducatte was the straw that stirred the drink for Saranac with 17 points. Sydney Myers scored 6 points.

Loudonville Christian squeaked by North Warren 72-61 in an exciting early season basketball match up. Michael Marshall put the defense on notice for the Eagles leading the way with 30 points. The Eagles advance to the championship game tomorrow night to play Saratoga Catholic in the Mike Beson Memorial Tournament in Saratoga.

Loudonville Christian held a modest 4-point edge heading into the fourth period.
 
Loudonville Christian finished the game in splendid fashion as they overshadowed the Cougars by 7-points in crunch time.

The Eagles managed to be ahead at all quarter stoppage by plus 5, 7, 4, & 11.

Michael Marshall guided Loudonville Christian with 30 points. Jared Pratt scored 15 points. Jack Bibighaus netted 9 points. Christian Stanton bagged 8 points.

Saratoga Catholic beat Galway 73-28 in the opening round of the 10th annual Mike Beson Memorial Tournament. The Saints host Loudonville Christian in the championship game tomorrow night at 7:30pm in the Bill Dalrymple Gym in Saratoga.

The Saints maximized their potential in the second half as they pulled away for the decisive win.

Saratoga Catholic had great energy right from the tip off and started the game in style racing to an ample first quarter lead 18-6. They restricted their opponent with a spectacular defensive effort and were in the drivers seat throughout the period.

The Saints jumped out to a comfortable margin at the break 34-9. Saratoga Catholic performed effectively in the second stanza turning a 12-point first quarter lead into a 25-point halftime upper hand. Their press caused the Eagles trouble in the opening half.

Saratoga Catholic played great in the third quarter and outscored Galway by 22 points.

Saratoga Catholic placed three players in double figure scoring. Tyler Hicks helped the cause for Saratoga Catholic with 14 points. Tyler Weygand contributed 11 points. Hunter Fales had 10 points. Ryan Gillis knocked down 9 points.
The Saints used expert marksmanship to make 9 hoops from deep.
Tyler Weygand made 3 three-pointers.

Chris Mahar paced Galway with 8 points. Carson Eagon racked up 7 points. Elijah Montague added 6 points. Colin Anderson had 5 points.
