Tamarac knocked off Shaker 65-51 in a non-league contest at the Coaches vs. Cancer event at Hudson Valley Community College. Zachary Rice and Joey Poulin combined to score 46 points for the victors.

The Bengals were strong out of the gate and bolted out to a hefty first quarter lead 16-9.

The Blue Bison were outscored 30-14 at the half. Tamarac played sound basketball in the second frame turning a 7-point first quarter lead into a 16-point halftime edge.

The Bengals maximized their play in the third quarter and outscored Shaker by 8 points.

Shaker cut into the lead in the final quarter but the clock wasn't on their side.

The Bengals were on top at every period closing whistle by leads of 7, 16, 24, & 14.

Averill Park beat Bethlehem 62-39 in the Class AA final as they captured their tenth straight Section 2 title. Arianna Verardi put forth a strong offensive game for the Warriors with 20 points.

Averill Park jumped out to a 12-7 first quarter lead.

The Eagles lagged behind 24-9 at the half.

The Warriors outscored Bethlehem by 12 points in the third quarter.

Averill Park asserted their dominance and led at each quarter stoppage by advantages of 5, 15, 27, & 23.

The Warriors had three players in double figure scoring. Arianna Verardi showed the way for the Warriors with 20 points. Kayleigh Ahern contributed 14 points. Taylor Holohan tallied 12 points and was named Class AA tournament MVP. Tatiana Tune accumulated 8 points.

Colonie prevailed over Shaker 66-49 in the Class AAA Championship game. Ella Trimarchi and Aliyah Pearson combined to score 38 points for the Raiders.

The Raiders bolted from opening whistle and rushed out to a first quarter lead 14-8.

Stillwater is moving on to the Class B Regional Final as they defeated Northeastern Clinton 71-34. The Warriors now play Canton from Section X on Saturday at 2:45 p.m. in Potsdam.
 
Stillwater led 34-3 after the first quarter, 46-11 at halftime, and 67-25 after three periods.
 
The Warriors placed four in double digit scoring as Jaxon Mueller netted 17, Carter Wichelns and James Cocozzo 15 each, and Lucas Lilac 13 points.
 
Logen Magoon paced Northeastern Clinton with 17 points.

In spite of an all-star scoring effort from Ryan Carroll of Holy Names, the Panthers were defeated by Ichabod Crane 53-33. Carroll scored a game high 19 points. Carolina Williams paced Ichabod Crane with 16 points.

Holy Names and Ichabod Crane were all square after one period of play. Ichabod Crane used a 12-0 spurt during the middle portion of the second quarter as they dominated the frame and led 27-15 at the half.
 
Ichabod Crane continued their strong play in the third quarter by getting out in transition to push the pace and extended their halftime lead. The Riders dug in on the defensive end keeping the quality shooters from Holy Names off balance throughout the second half.

The Riders had a trio of players in double figure scoring. Carolina Williams paced Ichabod Crane with 16 points. Ashley Ames poured in 13 points. Abigail Dolge tallied 10 points. Delaney More finished with 8 points. Alexa Barkley racked up 6 points.
Ichabod Crane used expert marksmanship to make 4 baskets from long distance.

Ryan Carroll led Holy Names with 19 points. Sophia Bologna racked up 5 points. Riley Good added 4 points.

Albany Academy grabbed the win over Saranac 46-30 in a Class B Sub-Regional game. The Bears move on to the Regional Final vs. Gouverneur on Saturday at SUNY Potsdam at 1 p.m.


Albany Academy used a stifling defense, holding the Spartans to two made field goals in the second half, to break open a close contest.

The Bears held a slim 3-point margin at the start of the fourth quarter. An Emily Thornton corner three pointer, with 1:27 left in the thrid period, off of an Alex Leonard pass gave Academy a 30-27 lead heading into the fourth quarter. It would be the last time the Bears trailed or were tied.

Albany Academy outscored Saranac 16-3 in the final frame, including scoring the last twelve points of the contest, holding the Spartans scoreless for the final six minutes of the game to secure the win.

Saranac held a modest 3-point edge at the commencement of quarter two.

The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half intermission with Saranac grabbing a slight lead. The Spartans led by as many as six points in the first half and made Albany Academy work on offense with their tough zone defense.

Alex Leonard showed the way for the Bears with 16 points. Eva Gitto netted 9 points.
The Bears manufactored 7 buckets from three point range.

Layla Pellerin helped the cause for Saranac with 13 points. Brenna Ducatte racked up 10 points.
