Boys

 

Maple Hill rallied from a double digit halftime deficit to capture the Class C title, 44-43. The Wildcats clamped down on Duanesburg in the second half outscoring them 27-14. The Eagles, to their credit, played the last two games without star Jeff Mulhern who was out with an injury and battled to the final whistle. 

Brady Cole led Maple Hill with 14 points and took home Class C MVP. Jake Fish added 9 points, Nick Novak 7 points.

Jansen Proulx scored 17 points for Duanesburg, Ethan Thompson 16 points..

 Stillwater used a 25-11 third quarter to open up a tight contest vs their cross-town rival Mechanicville to win the Class B title, 70-41.

Jaxon Mueller and Lukas Lilac scored 16 points each for the Warriors. Carter Wichelns chipped in with 12 points, James Cocozzo 11. Mueller grabbed 18 rebounds and took home the Class B MVP.

Colin Richardson popped in 17 points for the Red Raiders, Curz Goverski 13 points.

Bethlehem won a battle agains Suburban Council rival Columbia 66-63 in a Class AA semi-final game. The Eagles advance to play the top seed Averill Park at HVCC on Monday at 6:15 p.m.


The Eagles rallied from nine points down in the fourth quarter as they surpassed Columbia 17-11 in the closing minutes. They held off two Columbia attempts to tie the game in the final seconds.


The Blue Devils held a small 3-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter. They opened the lead up to nine points 61-52 after a Kendyl Ouimette jumper capping off a 7-0 run with 4:40 left in the contest. Bethlehem fought back and ran off 12 straight points to take a 64-61 lead. The dagger was a Paige Davenport three pointer, with 1:24 left in the game, that gave the Eagles the lead for good.

The Blue Devils rushed out to first quarter lead 18-12. Yet, The Eagles recovered in the second quarter and outscored Columbia by 8 points.

The outcome was still in limbo as the teams went to the first half stoppage with Bethlehem grabbing a slight lead.

The Blue Devils made a charge coming out of the half, after being behind at the half, and snatched the lead 52-49 approaching the end of the final frame.

The Eagles placed four players in double figure scoring. Caroline Davis, Paige Davenport and Kelsey vonWedel registered 14 points each. Katherine Bannigan scored 11 points.
The Eagles knocked down 9 buckets from three point range.

Bethlehem shot well from the charity stripe as they made good on 78.6%, 11 of 14.

The Blue Devils placed three in double figure scoring. Alivia Landy guided Columbia with 23 points. Kendyl Ouimette poured in 13 points. Sarah Rainville had 12 points. Ella Hebler knocked down 9 points.
The Blue Devils produced 7 trey balls.
Columbia shot outstanding from the foul line as they attained 84.2%, 16 of 19.

If you experienced a power outage in the Glens Falls area around 11:15 a.m don't be alarmed as it was just the North Warren boys shooting the lights out in the first quarter on their way to becoming the Class D champions. The Cougars shot 10 of 13 from three point range on their way to a 32 point opening quarter and a 73-55 win over Loudonville Christian.

North Warren led 32-18 after the first quarter, 47-28 at the half and 58-43 at the end of the third quarter.


Wyatt Jennings led North Warren with 20 points, Semaj Cuyler and Coleman Swartz each scored 15, Derrick Tyrell scored 14 and took home Class D tournament MVP honors.

 
Loudonville Christian was paced by Michael Marshall's outstanding game on offense as he knocked down 30 points on 13 of 16 shooting.

Averill Park cruised to a 59-24 win over Niskayuna to advance to the Class AA title game vs Bethlehem on Monday at HVCC at 6:15 p.m. 

The Warriors took a 15-6 lead after the first quarter, 30-12 at the half, and 44-15 after three quarters.

Kayleigh Ahern led the Warriors with 22 points and Arianna Verardi added 13, Taylor Holohan 9 points.

Olivia O'Meally led in scoring for Niskayuna with 9 points, Natalie Birmingham with 6.

Glens Falls stays undefeated and beat top seeded Catholic Central 58-52, to capture the Class A title. Kellen Driscoll led the charge for the Black Bears with 21 points.

Glens Falls held a modest 3-point edge at the commencement of quarter two. Catholic Central led 8-0 but Glens Falls used a 15-2 run to get them back in the game.


The Black Bears performed effectively in the second stanza turning a 3-point first quarter lead into a 7-point halftime edge. Catholic Central star Darien Moore picked up his third foul and sat the majority of the second quarter.

Catholic Central scored the used a 13-0 run to regain the lead out of the break 40-34. After a timeout Glens Falls went to a box and one by face guarding Darien Moore and closed the quarter on a 14-2 surge.

The Black Bears led at all period closing whistles by separations of 3, 7, 6, & 6.

The Black Bears had three in double figure scoring. Kellen Driscoll helped the cause for the Black Bears with 21 points and was named tournament MVP. Brody Holcomb secured 14 points. Oscar Lilac collected 10 points. Aiden Prunty bagged 9 points.
Glens Falls drilled 6 trifectas.

The Crusaders placed three in double figure scoring. Darien Moore paced Catholic Central with 23 points. Qwameik Smith collected 11 points. Sei'Mir Roberson totaled 11 points.
The Crusaders used expert marksmanship to make 7 baskets from behind the three point line.
Darien Moore made 4 three-pointers.
