Albany slipped past Bethlehem 46-34 in a Class AA quarter-final sectional match up. The Falcons turned up the defensive pressure in the second half holding the Eagles to thirteen total points after the break. They advance to the semi-final round where they'll play Shaker on March 3 at HVCC.

Albany held a small 2-point lead heading into the second quarter.

The two squads struggled to grab a foothold as the teams went to the first half break with Albany gaining the upper hand.

The Falcons were in control at all period ending horn by margins of 2, 5, 8, & 12.

Shonyae Edmonds sparked the offense for the Falcons with 15 points. Cassidy Foley poured in 9 points. MeChalle Cancer connected on 8 points.
Albany made 4 hoops from behind the arc.
Cassidy Foley made 3 three-pointers.

Caroline Davis led the Eagles with 10 points. Kaitlyn Robbins registered 7 points. Eleanor Cerf accounted for 5 points. Maren Louridas totaled 5 points. Lidia Boucher knocked down 4 points.

Shaker defeated Saratoga 62-39 in a Class AA sectional tilt. Kaelah Carter and Kristen Foglia combined to score 36 points for the Blue Bison. They took advantage of a strong second half performance and now move on to the semi-final round on March 3 vs Albany at Hudson Valley Community College.

Shaker were charged up from the opening whistle and played excellent team basketball on their way to a decent first quarter lead 18-9. The Blue Bison turned defense into offense and closed the quarter on a 7-0 run.

Shaker maximized their play in the third quarter and outscored Saratoga by 6 points as they extended their ten point halftime lead, to sixteen points, to give them the breathing room they needed. Emily Satterday nailed a buzzer beater jumper to end the third period.
 
 

The Blue Bison were on top at all quarter stoppages by separations of 9, 10, 16, & 23.

Shaker had a trio of players in double figure scoring. Kaelah Carter showed the way for the Blue Bison with 19 points. Kristen Foglia knocked down 17 points. Jaedyn Shomo scored 13 points. Emily Satterday finished with 9 points.
Shaker knocked down 8 baskets from long distance.
Kristen Foglia made 4 three-pointers. Kaelah Carter added 3.

Natasha Chudy put forth a strong offensive game for Saratoga with 14 points. Ella Gennoy powered in 7 points. Lauren Lafountain finished with 7 points. Carly Wise scored 6 points. Nora Carminucci contributed 5 points.

Albany knocked off Shenendehowa 63-59 in a Class AA quarter-final sectional contest. The Falcons relied on their tenacious second half play to pull away from the Plainsmen in a game that featured twelve lead changes. Albany advances to play Green Tech on 3/1 in Glens Falls.

Albany held a small 4-point lead at the start of the fourth quarter after trailing at the half.

The contest was a toss up as the teams went to the first half intermission with Shenendehowa gaining the upper hand.

The Plainsmen played team basketball in the second stanza turning a 4-point first quarter deficit into a 2-point halftime advantage.

Albany put forth a team first approach that provided a spark coming from the locker room, after they trailed at the half, which enabled them to commandeer the lead 37-33 heading towards the fourth period.

The offenses were charged up in the fourth quarter as they generated a high octane 52 points.

The Falcons had a triplet in double figure scoring. Isaiah Austin was an offensive catalyst for Albany with 17 points. Malachi Perry racked up 13 points. Frailin Marrero De La Rosa accounted for 12 points. Delon Dean had 7 points.
Albany knocked down 4 baskets from downtown.
Isaiah Austin nailed 3 three-pointers.
The Falcons shot exquisite from the charity stripe as they made 68.8%, 11 of 16.

The Plainsmen had a trio of players in double figure scoring. Mason Courtney paced the Plainsmen with 19 points. Carter Seeberger knocked down 14 points. Grady Ceccucci connected on 10 points. Miles Peterson sank 9 points. Robby Hicks racked up 7 points.

Catholic Central won an instant classic versus Fonda 62-61 in a back and forth Class B sectional quarter-final that had thirteen lead changes. Darien Moore was a serious problem on the offensive end for the Crusaders stepping up big-time with 28 points. He nailed a game winning three pointer in overtime with 0:15 seconds left. Catholic Central moves on to play Tamarac on 3/2 in Glens Falls.

The contest went to overtime when Fonda's Allen Booth hit a game tying three pointer after a the Braves recovered a loose ball late in regulation. However, the Crusaders outscored Fonda 7-6 in the extra session.

Fonda held a modest 2-point edge heading into the fourth quarter.

Spurned on by a first-class performance in the second half the Crusaders outscored Fonda 38-32 in the final sixteen minutes and (OT). That was different than the first half when Fonda built a 29-24 lead at the midway point.

The Braves seemed focused right from the jump and bolted out to a hefty first quarter lead 18-7. They put together an imposing effort guarding the hoop and grabbed control of the frame. Allen Booth got off to a hot start for Fonda hitting four three pointers in the opening frame. Yet, The Crusaders recovered in the second quarter and outscored Fonda by 6 points.

The two squads struggled to grab a foothold as the teams went to the first half locker room break with Fonda gaining the upper hand.

Fonda standout Nicholas Hastings went out of the game early in the second half with a lower leg injury with the Braves leading by five points. He missed about a quarter of action, returning in the fourth quarter, but wasn't the same physically as he was in the first half. It was a surprise he even returned to the game as much as he was limping. Incredible display of effort and toughness by Hastings.

Darien Moore paced the Crusaders with 28 points. Seimir Roberson added 16 points. Nick Riley connected on 9 points.
Catholic Central drained 6 trifectas.
The Crusaders shot with superb accuracy from the the line as they made 72.7%, 8 of 11.

The Braves placed three players in double figure scoring. Allen Booth took control of the offense for Fonda with 23 points. Nicholas Hastings racked up 18 points. Connor Weaver poured in 10 points.
Fonda connected on 7 trey balls.

CBA snatched the win over Ballston Spa 58-40 in a hard fought Class AA sectional game. Ayden Harrison took control of the offense for the Brothers with 19 points. CBA will play La Salle on 3/1 in Glens Falls in the semi-finals.

CBA ended the game with marvelous execution as they overshadowed Ballston Spa by 8-points at the pivotal point in the game.

The Brothers were strong out of the gate and darted in front to gain a hefty first quarter lead 14-7. They used a lock down mentality protecting their basket and imposed their will in the quarter.

Defense reigned supreme in the 2nd quarter as the teams scored only 14 points.

The Brothers managed to be ahead at all period closing whistle by separations of 7, 7, 10, & 18.

Ayden Harrison showed the way for the Brothers with 19 points. David Clement netted 12 points.
CBA drained 4 baskets from downtown.

Andrew Haight led Ballston Spa with 17 points. Blaine Zoller got in the book with 10 points.
