Maple Hill defeated Duanesburg 54-31 in non-league action. The Wildcats used a critical 16-0 run, starting late in the third quarter, to break open the contest.

Maple Hill were strong out of the gate and bolted out to a nice first quarter lead 16-6. They put together an imposing defense and took control of the period.

The Wildcats jumped out to a comfortable margin at the break 28-15.
 
Duanesburg fought back in the third quarter as they outscored Maple Hill by three points.

Maple Hill were in command at every period closing whistle by margins of 10, 13, 10, & 23.

Blake Decker led Maple Hill with 19 points. Dominic Hirschoff collected 16 points.

Bryce Burkhardt paced Duanesburg with 9 points. Matthew Coons registered 8 points.

Chatham beats Ichabod Crane in non-league tilt.

 

 -Chatham used a 15-6 run in the last 6 minutes of the 1st half to take control of the contest, turning a 2 point deficit into a 29-22 halftime lead. The Panthers critical 2nd quarter run was sparked by 6 points each from Kaleb Taylor and Jon Elbert. Including this basket where the two of them hooked up for a hoop as Jon Elbert's great hustle under the basket led to a Caleb Taylor lay-in.

 

 

-The Panthers built their lead to double digits early in the 3rd quarter and Ichabod Crane couldn't get the lead under 10 the rest of the 2nd half.  The Riders cut the deficit to 10 a couple times but they were often hurt by turnovers and lost 69-46.

 

The Riders were paced by Christian Pesano with 21 points. Donovan Brown added 10 points.

-Chatham placed 4 players in double figures led by Jon Elbert with 21 points, Keon Armstrong added 16 points along with JayShawn Williams and Caleb Taylor both scoring 14 points .

Schalmont defeats Hudson Falls in non-league action.

 

 -The Sabres of Schalmont raced out to a 16-4 first quarter advantage and never looked back beating Hudson Falls 49-33.

 

-Schalmont placed three players in double figure scoring led by Haley Burchhardt with 20 points, Payton Graber with 13 points and Emily Lenehan netting 12 points.

 

 

 

-Hudson Falls was led in scoring by Brinley Inglee with 19 points.

Averill Park hangs on to beat Colonie.

 

 -A match-up between 2 of last year's Sectional Champions didn't disappoint as Colonie and Averill Park battled to the final whistle with Averill Park winning 57-53.

 

 

-Colonie jumped out to a 10-2 start but Averill Park stormed back with a 17-2 run to take the lead in the 2nd quarter. Anna Jankovic of the Warriors buried a three pointer right at the halftime buzzer to extend the Averill Park lead to 4 at the break, 26-22.

 

 

 

-In the 2nd half, Averill Park built their largest lead of the night 11 points, 48-37, with just under 6 minutes left in the game. It was then Colonie's turn to answer. The Garnet Raiders used a 15-5 run capped off by an Aliyah Wright three pointer with 0:37 seconds left to bring to deficit to 1, 53-52.

 

 

-Averill Park was able to seal the victory with 4 free throws in the closing minute, 2 by Amelia Wood and 2 by Kelsey Wood, for a 57-53 win.

 

-Averill Park took advantage of 48 free throw attempts hitting 31 for 65%. Colonie was 12 of 16 from the line for 75%.

 

-The Garnet Raiders were led in scoring by Kyara Triblet and Aliyah Wright both with 14 points. Wright also added 6 assists. Alivia Paeglow chipped in with 9 points and Makayla Blake netted 8 points. Aliyah Wright became the Colonie girls basketball all time leading scorer surpassing Kelly Charette’s record of 1282 points.

 

-Averill Park was led in scoring by Amelia Wood with a game high 21 points and Kelsey Wood added 13 points. Anna Jankovic and Olivia Kelley both had 8 points each.

Warriors win battle vs. the Spartans.

 

 -Averill Park scored the first nine points of the game vs Queensbury and rode their hot 1st half shooting from beyond the arch to earn a 67-48 victory. The Warriors made nine three pointers on the night and used a stingy half court defense to hold of a 4th quarter rally from the Spartans.

 

-Zach Price led all scorers with 22 points for Averill Park. Vinny Carucci added 11 points.

 

 

 

-Queensbury was led by 17 points from Matthew Chase and Nathan Johnson chipped in with 10 points.
