 -The Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Lady Knights are moving on to the NYSPHSAA Class D Final Four after their big win over Westport in regional action, 49-24.

 

-Bishop Gibbons never trailed in the game and used a swarming defense to make life difficult for Westport holding the Eagles to ten first half points.

  

-Ava Megyeri and Abby Kienzle led the Lady Knights with 12 points each. Eight players entered the scoring column to pace the NDBG balanced attack.

 

- Abby Schwoebel led the Eagles with 13 points.

 -Glens Falls jumped out to a 20-6 first quarter advantage, sparked by great team defense and Joseph Girard III's 18 points, and they never looked back knocking off Olean 83-63 to advance the NYSPHSAA Class B title game. The Indians will play Lowville from Section 3 at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday in Binghamton.

 

-Olean was able to cut the Glens Falls to nine points late in the third quarter after consecutive Mike Schmidt field goals but could never get any closer.

  

-Joseph Girard III finished with 39 points for the Indians, Nicholas Danahy added 16 points and Trenton Girard added 12.

 

- Mike Schmidt led the Huskies with 29 points. Alex Weakfall chipped in with 11 points.

 -After three quarters, in a two point game with fifteen lead changes, the girls Class C NYSPHSAA title game looked like it was headed towards a big finish. That is, until Cambridge used a 9-0 fourth quarter run and held Watkins Glens scoreless for six plus minutes to capture the title 57-43.

 

-Cambridge held a slim 41-39 lead with just under six minutes left in the game when Sophie Phillips hit Stacia Epler for a monster wing three pointer to push the Indians lead to five points, 44-39. The next Cambridge trip down the floor Sophie Phillips again dished off this time to her sister Lilly for a lay-in to extend the margin and help seal the victory.

  

-Cambridge placed three players in double figure scoring led by Sophie Phillip's game high 24 points. Stacia Epler nailed 3 three pointers on her way to 14 points and McKayla McLenithan chipped in with 10 points.

 

 

-Watkins Glen had three players in double figure scoring as well led by Adrienna Solomon and Danielle Leszyk with 11 points. Taylor Kelly added 10 points.

 -Cambridge scored 49 first half points, jumping out to a big lead, and defeated Maple Grove 75-43 to advance to the Class C state title game vs Watkins Glen on Saturday at 7 p.m.

 

-The Indians used a balanced offensive attack, on their way to an impressive first half offensive display, as they led the Red Dragons 49-27 at halftime. Lilly Phillips 15 points, Sophie Phillips 14 points, and Fiona Mooney had 10 points for Cambridge at the break.

  

-Maple Grove started the third quarter on a 7-2 run to cut their deficit to 17, 51-34, but Cambridge scored the next 15 points to close out the frame.

 

-Lilly Phillips led Cambridge with 22 points, Sophie Phillips 21 points and Fiona Mooney added 17 points.

 

-Bre Hill led Maple Grove with 10 points. Sam Snow and Marissa Schuppenhauer each added 8 points.

 -Albany Academy is headed back to the Class A N.Y. State Federation Final after defeating Park School 71-56. The Cadets will face Frederick Douglass at the Cool Insuring Arena at 1:45 p.m on Sunday 3/24/19.

 

-Albany Academy closed the 2nd quarter on a 7-0 run, taking control of a close game, paced by 19 first half points from August Mahoney and 11 points from Andre Jackson at the break. The Cadets led by double digits for the whole second half and never trailed in the contest.

  

- August Mahoney led the Cadets with 23 points, Andre Jackson added 18 points, and Saif Ullah chipped in with 16 points.

 

- Park placed three players in double figure scoring led by Noah Hutchins with 18 points, Ebuka Quentin Nnagbo 16 points, and Keonjay Carter added 11 points.
