-Top seeded Averill Park is headed back to familiar territory, the Class A title game, as they knocked off a tough Holy Names squad, 46-31. The Warriors will take on Queensbury on Saturday, March 2nd at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. They will look to capture their sixth straight Class A crown.

-Averill Park used a suffocating defense and a critical 11-0 fourth quarter spurt helped give them some breathing room late in the contest. Holy Names down 10-0 at the start of the game, clawed back throughout the game and cut their deficit to seven points (35-28) with under six minutes left in the contest. That was as close as they would get the rest of the game.

-Two of Averill Park's youngsters led the team in scoring as sophomore Anna Jankovic had 13 points and freshman Amelia Wood added 9 points.

-Saniyya Adams paced Holy Names with 11 points. Keira Cohen added 8 points.

-In a game where Lake George trailed at the end of the first three quarter buzzers they finished the game ahead at the only buzzer that mattered, winning a hard fought game vs Hoosick Falls 48-45 to capture the Class C title. A Cameron Orr backdoor cut and basket, with four minutes left in the game, off a great feed from Chris Becker gave the Warriors a 45-43 lead they would hold on to until the final whistle. It was their first lead since early in the first quarter when they went ahead 4-2.

(Cameron Orr go ahead basket)

-The game was eerily similar to last year's sectional championship between these two teams, which Lake George won, as with just over four minutes left in the 2017-18 game the score was 45-43 Lake George. Exactly the same score and almost identical game time as this year!

-Hoosick Falls playing without injured star player Tristan Williams, throughout the sectionals, executed a wonderful game plan on slowing down the Warriors which beat them up in an earlier season match-up 55-30. Jon Kempf led the Panthers with 18 points, Max Kipp added 14 points, and Isiah Burnett 10 points.

-Chris Becker led Lake George with 16 points and was named the Class C tournament MVP. Alex Leonelli added 11 points.
