Averill Park used an impressive first eight minutes and took hold of the ball game on their way to a nice first quarter lead 15-8.
Shenendehowa closed the gap late in the first half thanks to back to back three pointers from Gabby Stuart and Abby Stuart as the teams went to the first half breather with Averill Park nudging ahead 32-27.
Averill Park played with purpose in the third quarter and outscored Shenendehowa by 6 points. They took their biggest lead of the night 52-40 late in the third period.
The Warriors led at all quarter buzzers by separations of 7, 5, 11, & 7.
Averill Park had a quartet of players in double figure scoring. Arianna Verardi paced the Warriors with 20 points. Taylor Holohan chipped in 16 points. Tatiana Tune bagged 11 points. Kayleigh Ahern finished with 10 points. Bailee Lange chalked up 9 points.
The Warriors shot with exceptional form at the line as they achieved 66.7%, 12 of 18.
The Plainsmen drilled 10 hoops from deep.
Gabby Stuart nailed 3 three-pointers. Kaleigh Montanez with 3.
Shenendehowa shot with sterling accuracy from the charity stripe as they prospered at 78.6%, 11 of 14.

Berne Knox used a second quarter explosion to pull away from Whitehall for an 80-38 victory. The top seeded Bulldogs advance to play North Warren at Cool Insuring Arena on 3/3 at 6:30 pm.
Berne Knox led 23-14 after one period. In the second period they turned their defense into offense and started playing downhill with sharp quick passes in transition as they outscored Whitehall 29-4 to lead 52-18 at the break.
Whitehall finishes an impressive season at 17-5.

Bethlehem pulled off a dramatic comeback to secure a 62-60 victory over Amsterdam in a Section 2 Class AA playoff thriller at Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday.
Trailing 28-18 at halftime, Bethlehem surged back in the second half, outscoring Amsterdam 44-32 to claim the narrow win. Joe Whiting led the way with 23 points, Kiernan Barnes added 20 points. Jay Felio contributed 10 points. Joe Whiting and Brenan Martone added key baskets down the stretch.
Amsterdam controlled the game early, with Jude Flint and Caleb Miller each scoring 18 points each, for the game, to build a double-digit lead by halftime. The Rams led 50-39 after a Jude Flint three pointer with 6:36 left in the game. However, Bethlehem went on a 21-10 run to tie the game at 60 with under 0:10 left in regulation
After trading baskets in the last minute Brandon Wilcox went 2-2 from the line with seven seconds left for Bethlehem to secure the win.
The late-game effort, combined with timely free throws, lifted the Eagles to the next round of the playoffs. Bethlehem will next play Niskayuna at the Cool Insuring Arena on 3/5 at 8 pm.

Defense reigned supreme in the 2nd quarter as the teams scored a scant 14 points. Albany Academy outscored Shaker 12-2 to grab the halftime lead, 20-15 after trailing by nine points early in the game. They didn't allow a Shaker shot attempt until there was 2:50 left in the second quarter. Their pressure defense wouldn't allow the Blue Bison to set up the offense.
Shaker clawed back in the final quarter, as they outscored the Cadets 22-15, but they ran out of time.
Bobby Chandler paced the Cadets with 14 points. Jack Louridas racked up 11 points. Cyrus Matia finished with 9 points. Liam Hayes scored 6 points. Mallachy Ings notched 6 points.
Albany Academy made 4 baskets from behind the three point line.
Zacharie Matulu guided Shaker with 23 points. Drew Ronovech contributed 8 points. Sean Hurley tallied 8 points.
The Blue Bison shot exquisite from the charity line as they attained 86.7%, 13 of 15.

Troy cruised past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 74-52 in a Class AA playoff quarter-final tilt at Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday.
The Flying Horses set the tone early, jumping out to a 15-7 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Senior forward Stetson Merritt led all scorers with 32 points. Kayne Behan and Josiah Acevedo provided additional firepower, scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake were led by a strong effort from John Klopher, who finished with 24 points, including five three-pointers. Gus Fusco added nine points.
Troy extended its lead in the second and third quarters, outscoring BHBL 45-28 during that stretch. A late push by Burnt Hills in the fourth quarter wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit, as Troy secured a comfortable 22-point victory.
With this win, #3 Troy advances to the next round of the playoffs to play #2 La Salle at Cool Insuring Arena on 3/6 at 5 pm.
